Carroll L. Mills

Pastor

CARROLL LINWOOD MILLS was born in Pocomoke City, Maryland to the late Helen and Preston Mills. His brother William and his wife Kathy and three children, Wiliam, Kara, and Byron, reside in Salisbury, Maryland. His sister, Betty, her daughters Thomasina, Stacey, and Tracey and her granddaughters, Aliyah and Alanna, all reside in Elkton, Maryland.

Married to the former Cheryll Collier in August 1988, they have three daughters - Nicole, Erica and Jessica and their son-in-law, Demond Selby. They also have one granddaughter, McKenna Nicole and one grandson, McKhai Herolin, all of whom reside in Pocomoke, Maryland.

On August 18, 2001, Reverend Mills preached his initial sermon at New Macedonia Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, Maryland. While at New Macedonia, under the outstanding leadership, nurturing and guidance of Bishop Isaac Jenkins, Sr., he was actively involved in various ministries including the Men's Prayer Ministry, the Men's Night Out Ministry, President of the Isaac Jenkins Senior Chorale, and a member of the Trustee Board for a brief period. Continuing his quest for kingdom building, Reverend Mills has been actively involved with Lift Them Up and Support Ministries (LTUSM) since 2002 and is presently the Treasurer for the organization. This outreach ministry of preachers provides spiritual and financial support to the communities of the Delmarva Peninsula.

On Saturday, July 22, 2006, Reverend Mills was ordained at New Macedonia Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, Maryland and installed as the 12th Pastor of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Princess Anne, Maryland on Saturday, August 12, 2006. Reverend Mills loves serving the Lord and providing service to God's people. Known as "The Church With A Heart For The Community," Mount Carmel has continued to grow and prosper under Reverend Mills' leadership. Following the vision of God, Pastor Mills led the charge for the construction of a new church which was completed in 8 months and rededicated in January 2010. On May 29, 2013, the final payment was made on the mortgage and God allowed the church to be paid for in a record - forty-one (41) months.

For more than (37) years, Reverend Mills was employed by Delmarva Power in various capacities. His position, at the time of his retirement in June 2017, was Distribution Supervisor. He graduated with an Associate's degree in June 2002 from the Christian World College of Theology in Salisbury, Maryland and is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree. A very active member of the community, Pastor Mills serves on the Lower Shore Shelter Homeless Board in Princess Anne, Maryland as well as a board member of SHORE UP! Inc. in Salisbury, Maryland. He also serves as Assistant Treasurer of the Ministerial Alliance, an organization of local Pastors committed to making a difference in their communities. In an unprecedented, but ordained move of God, on Sunday, March 29, 2015, Pastor Mills was installed as the 2nd Vice Moderator of the Progressive Baptist Association and on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, he was installed as the Moderator of the Progressive Baptist Association of the Eastern Shore, a capacity in which he still serves.

Pastor Mills lives his life according to the gospel recorded in Isaiah 43:18-20: "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honor me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to me people, my chosen."

His favorite scripture, Romans 12:2, is his heart's desire for the people of today --

"AND BE NOT CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD: BUT BE YE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, THAT YE MAY NOT PROVE WHAT IS THAT GOOD, AND ACCEPTABLE, AND PERFECT, WILL OF GOD."

Reverend Mills believes that if you will just change your mind, you can change your situation.
